LOOK AT SOME ROTTING CRAP!

DAY ONE -- OCT. 18, 2000
Hello. Welcome to the wonderful world of rotting meat. Today I started an "experiment," and as far as my mom knows it’s a project for my anatomy class. It is just like the stinky meat experiment created by the great people at thespark.com. For my little experiment I used four different kinds of "meats". I found a variety pack of chicken in our freezer, I think it's been there for 2 years, my mom said I could use it. The hotdogs were also in our freezer, my mom said I could use them too. The fish sticks came from my little sister, she made them and they turned out soggy, so I took them off my sister’s hands. When I was bringing everything outside I remembered that the neighbor kid put his dead starfishes in a bucket filled with water in front of out house. He didn't say I could use them, but I took them anyway. God, they stink. I've never seen a starfish rot before. Anyway, I found a place in my backyard to put all the meats and I put them on plates. Then I put some wire basket thingy over it to prevent any animals from getting to it. Also since we had some extra chain link fencing, I put some around it, its kinda set up like a tee-pee. This page will be updated daily until I get some rare, deadly disease from inhaling rotting starfishes.

DAY TWO -- OCT. 19, 2000
Welcome to day two. Yesterday night, I noticed that one of the fish sticks was stolen. I have no clue as to where it has gone. I want it back. Keep and eye out for a missing fish stick. Today our cat got caught behind the fencing and its head got stuck in the grill thing that’s over the meat, he was trying to get to the chicken. My mom found him lying on his side, she though he was dead (he's all right now). So she took off my tee-pee of fencing and put a garbage can over it. That’s why there is some debris on the meats, I wasn't about to brush it off. Starfish #2 looks like it tried to escape from the plate. I moved it back on to the plate with my bare hand! Well, I did have surgical gloves on, so my hands weren’t quite bare. Anyway, it was still sickening.

DAY THREE -- OCT. 20, 2000
Day three. Today it rained. Something got to one of the hotdogs, I’m not sure what. The hotdog is still there, its just been chewed on a little. The 2 remaining fish sticks are looking pretty soggy. Also, remember that the black crap on the meat is not mold or insects but debris. The starfishes not really changing a whole lot. I think they’re probably going to dry out or something, but hopefully since it has been rainy, they’ll mold first. The smell has gone considerably down on the starfishes. Yet, the fish sticks make me wish I had a zoom on my camera. The meats have been attracting tons of insects, primarily flies… which is good… the maggots are going to be cool. Yellow jackets, ants, slugs and spiders (?) have also been spotted around the meat.

DAY FOUR -- OCT. 21, 2000
MAGGOT EGGS! YAY! LET’S PARTY! Yes, that’s right… there are HUGE blobs of maggot eggs. Soon those will turn in to cute little maggots! Oooh, I can’t wait! I only see maggot eggs on the chicken. I tried getting the best picture I could of the eggs, I circled them on one picture. Also today I lost another hotdog to my cat :( oh well. Starfish #1 looks as if its starting to mold, well I’m not sure if the white crap on it is mold or some kind of eggs. Starfish #2 is looking gross as ever.
